As a team of elite athletes and Navy SEAL veterans, we worked tirelessly to create ATHLETHC — a truly unique brand of precision microdose THC formulations to support your health and wellness journey.
Our Beginnings
The story began back in 2019, when John and GW - two Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belts - launched the Kill Cliff CBD product line. Their goal was to help improve the lives of military veterans and also support their avid CrossFit consumer base. Not only was it a massive hit, but it also attracted notable personalities like Joe Rogan into the brand. They went on to create two signature CBD drinks with Joe including a collaboration with endurance athlete, Cameron Hanes. Kill Cliff CBD became the best selling infused beverage in America.
Along the way they collaborated with long time friend and fellow Navy SEAL veteran, Nick, a former US Military national-level Rugby athlete. He’s the founder of the Veteran’s Cannabis Project, which advocates for natural approaches to veteran health and wellness. Together, they shared a frustration about the lack of products designed for fitness applications and athletes. Increasingly, they found that people were creating their own stacks, such as a small dose of THC with pre workouts, to enhance their workout experience.
Enter Matt. At the time, Matt, a powerlifter, was leading the Beyond Nicotine fund for British American Tobacco. Acutely interested in products that catered to the health and wellness lifestyles of active individuals and athletes, he started collaborating with the team.
Fast forward….
They all quit their day jobs and started ATHLETHC. As accomplished athletes, they wanted to create products for themselves but with a much bigger vision. The idea of ATHLETHC is to serve a massively underserved group of people with purpose built products to support athletic performance. The team endeavored to deliver all the benefits of THC with a functional cannabinoid stack without the strange psychoactive effects notorious in edible products. They wanted something fast acting that gives all the control to the consumer. They wanted a performance culture rather than a cannabis culture.
